Commission from Tempest Flute Trio

Callum has recently completed a new work, ‘Temporal Flux’, for flute trio and big band, commissioned by the Tempest Flute Trio, an exciting flute trio founded in Manchester’s RNCM.

The premiere will take place on April 11th at the Forge, Camden, featuring the Tempest Flute Trio and the Callum Au Big Band. Watch this space for more details as they come!

Tempest is an exciting flute trio founded at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Helen Wilson, Holly Melia and Sarah Bennett, who have studied together for years, first at Chetham’s School of Music and now at the RNCM, all originally come from Yorkshire. The trio covers a wide spectrum of music including their own works and arrangements.

The Big Band on this occasion features a slightly reduced lineup of:

Lucas Dodd (Alto Saxophone); Will Gibson (Bass Clarinet); Tom Walsh, George Hogg, Henry Armburg-Jennings, Louis Dowdeswell (Trumpets); Callum Au, Ross Anderson, Mat Walton, Barry Clements (Trombones); Chris Eldred (Keyboards); Laurence Ungless (Electric Bass); Dave Elliott (Drums).
